Vocal Sport: Voice Acting

Stage Name: Mallory Low

Dr. Gupta is, what many people refer to her as, the G.O.A.T! Greatest of All Time. And now I understand why! Prior to meeting with her, I was struggling with vocal issues that were misdiagnosed by two different doctors and was on and off vocal rest for a couple of months, which took a toll on my mental health. I wasn’t able to work and it was a struggle not being able to do what I love most. I felt hopeless.

And then I met Dr. Gupta, and the moment she walked into the room and introduced herself, I started bawling my eyes out. (In retrospect, I think it was my soul telling me that I was safe and in good hands.) Immediately, she discovered a small vocal injury using her scope. Again, I started to cry but she reassured me that this was NOT the end of my career and told me to not shame myself for it. I just loved her kind, empathetic and straightforward manner. She really understood the importance of my voice, and together, we decided on the best plan to move forward to QUICKLY but SAFELY get back to work.

For me it was surgery. (Eeeeek!) But I am so glad I went through with it because it was a success! I’m so grateful for her and her team for their prompt communication, which put me at ease during the entire process.

Since I’m now healed and recovered from surgery, I will miss my frequent appointments with her. Though bittersweet, my experience with her gave me the best gift I could ever ask for. Not just my voice, but the confidence I need to continue what I love doing the most. And now I can move forward equipped with more knowledge and a brilliant voice care team at my side. Thank you Dr. Gupta and everyone at Center For Vocal Health for everything you’ve done for me! You guys are stuck with me now, sorry!
